What is InterHab Push Day?
It is a day for Kansans with disabilities and their families, as well as disability advocates, to call on the legislature to put forward new laws and policies to improve and sustain their abilities to live independently in their communities.
For 2017, InterHab and its members will be reminding legislators to #RememberIDD as they consider increases to the Medicaid HCBS reimbursement rates that fund community-based services for Kansans with developmental disabilities. Without sufficient funding, the I/DD system is in danger of collapsing.
While InterHab is an association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Home and Community-Based Service providers, the organization collaborates with all disability, and aging communities. We encourage all Kansans who have an interest in advancing aging and disability policy in order to secure a strong system of services delivery and enhanced opportunities for independence and inclusion to take part in the 2017 InterHab Push Day and remind Kansas lawmakers, and other state officials to #RememberUS!
